YAAAAY!! got a nice big beautiful makeup case for my birthday last week! perfect for keeping my makeup artistry kits in and for carrying back and forth to college :D

So far my kit contains makeup removing products, moisturisers, cotton pads, wipes, everyday makeup, makeup brushes and what i have so far in regards to face and body paints. Would love to fill it up though with all sorts of products :D

I recon for my full makeup kit I'd love to get fake bloods, wound fillers, all different colour wheels for creating effects, putty for creating wounds and injuries, better tools for applying my makeup and effects...and anything else i could possibly use!

Will be building my kit up step by step till i need several makeup cases im sure! wish me luck!xx

My Fave Film Makeup Designs!xx

I love films! watching DVDs I always loved to sit and watch the extras and see how everything is made and how they did the SFX and makeup on sets. This interest is partly why I want to get into makeup artistry. Here is some of my fave ones for you :) x

The Dark Knight - Heath Ledger Joker...

Heath ledgers Joker with washed out facepaint

Here is Heath Ledger with his scars behind the scenes before the facepaint is applied, SFX used.

Shaun Of The Dead - zombies

Each zombie has eye contacts, wounds with blood and cuts and scars using special effects.

A Nightmare On Elm Street - Freddy Krueger

The burns effects or Freddy are amazing!

30 Days Of Night - vampires

The vampires in '30 Days of Night' are fantastic looking! The teeth, eye contacts, flawless pale skin and sharp features make them look very scary, and sooo much blood on the victims makes the film extra gorey.

Edward Scissorhands - Edward

Edwards scars, old and new are done very well using special effects.

This was some of my fave films which have fantastic special effects. Hopefully one day I will get to work on a film and create this kind of work.

Thanks for reading folks! Luv JD xxxx

General Rounding Up :) xx

First month of college gone and it has flew in. My first expectations I expected to have alot of practical work, get practicing hair and makeup methods and gradually build up our skills. We had this...times 10! Right away we were given research tasks for all kinds of makeup and hairstyling, things I had never even seen or heard of, methods I didn't know of, even working on wigs which I never thought i would have to learn about. was a real shock to the system how quickly we were thrown right in to everything! Even making this blog, for a cave woman like myself I found quite difficult. But I have to admit I'm glad of it now because just a few weeks in now I feel like i can do alot more than I thought I would have at this stage of my course.

The college has supplied us with materials and brushes for through-out the course, we will have out own t-shirts (which I cannot wait to jazz up with my own style) and we are given alot of help and support with our tasks.

Think the funniest moment in college so far was last week when we had our which demo of a witch done by one of our lecturers. Yes, I was the model, and by the time she was finished paintin my face, wrinkling my skin, drooping my eyes, frizing up my hair and putting horrible stains on my teeth I didn't recognise myself!! Was very scary, and hilarious at the same time. Had to pose for pictures which were posted all over facebook, lol! Infact I should try and post a picture of it on here, give you all a giggle heehee.

Have really been enjoying my hairdressing, seeing as I haven;t always been good with hair. My own hair is very VERY long and I don't tend to style it so I never really learned how to style hair. I can now pin-curl hair and I can style and set hair using rollers which I have always wanted to be able to do! GO ME!

As of now I wouldn't say I have a particular makeup artist as my idol, but I want to build myself up to be as good as some of the best! I have great admiration for those who can do such amazing work on filmset for those like Tim Burton. ANYTHING done in tim Burton films blows my mind\! I wanna be able to do that stuff....

By the time I have completed my course I want to be able to do anything I set my mind to and create a fun-filled, successful career for myself. Follow my life moto....

If you want something in life, MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Thanks for reading my post peeps, big luvs, JD xxxx

Heya everybody! Laptop is fixed so lets get this blog of mine rolling!

That's my first month of my media makeup course completed now and I have to say I am LOVING IT! Completely in my element with the makeup up and although I'm finding some of the hairdressing a little bit more difficult than I imagined I'm still doing very well and have passed some assessments already, so GO ME!

Going to post up some pictures for you all now and show you what I have learnt so far :)

Enjoy folks, big luvz, JD xxxx
